Keith is a graduate of the St. Louis Visual and Performing Arts High School. He studied percussion at Howard University under the tutelage of Alfonso M. Pollard, and at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette under Mike Mann, where he was named “Outstanding Collegiate Jazz Drummer” in the state and performed with IAJE All-Star Collegiate Jazz Band. Additionally, Keith has received invaluable instruction from Ralph Hardimon, former percussion arranger for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps, Kenny Aronoff, Peter Erskine, and jazz legend Jim Chapin.

Keith has performed on stage with jazz icons Byron Stripling, Pete Fountain, and John Stoddard, acclaimed timpanist Rick Holmes of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, contemporary country artist Keith Urban, rock-n-roll legend Johnny Johnson, and religious artists Wintley Phipps, Roland Gresham, and Reger Smith. No stranger to exquisite concert venues, Keith has had the honor of performing at Powell Hall, the Sheldon Concert Hall, the Kauffman Center, and New York’s Lincoln Center.

Keith often works as a studio session percussionist, drum set drummer and world percussionist, and is the “on call percussionist” for the St. Louis Children’s Choirs, formally the St. Louis Symphony Children’s Choirs. He has served as the percussion specialist for The Principia School, Belleville West High School, Wentzville Rt-IV School District, Parkway South High School, and Fort Zumwalt South High School. While composing and arranging for these Missouri schools, Keith’s instruction and mentorship has helped these percussion sections, and others, achieve many state competition awards and national accolades. Additionally, he taught at the world renown Drum Headquarters from 1998 until it closed its doors in 2011.
